We have been receiving many calls and even a few checks in the mail that we have returned to their owners. It began January 1, 2020 - your Fire Dues now appear on your Real Estate Tax Statements that are mailed out by the County starting the middle of February 2020. We do check these assessments annually. If you have any questions or found an error in your billing please contact us at firehouse@70westfd.com or during business hours at (501)767-8540. We no longer bill for the membership dues, they will come from the Tax Office and everyone will have until October due dNate before your considered delinquent. You should see it itemized as 70 West Fire Protection or Special 135 on your statements. Thank you for your support.
GARLAND COUNTY RESIDENTS - If Real Estate Taxes sent out by the County go unpaid by the October 15 deadline, they will continue to collect the late payments through December 31 with a penalty fee that still include the Fire Protection District Fees. After the first of the following year, the County Collector removes the Fire District Fees from each delinquent property and sends a list of these fees to the individual District's to bill out. So, if you go in after the first of the year and try to pay the previous year's tax statement the Fire District fees are not included in the amount you pay. You will likely receive an invoice from us starting in Late February/March depending on how long it takes us to process the list from the County and prepare it for billing.
HOT SPRING COUNTY RESIDENTS - The Fire District fees are not removed, they remain on your tax statements until paid so you will not receive a separate billing from us for Delinquent Dues.
